Nostril Reduction (Nasal Wing Reduction)
INDEX
Nasal alar reduction (nose wing reduction) is a procedure that makes the width and size of the nose wings appear more modest by excising skin from the inner or outer sides of the wings. The internal
approach manipulates the inside of the nostrils (nasal floor), effectively making the nostrils smaller and narrower. The external
approach excises skin from the outer sides of the wings, effectively reducing their volume and plumpness.
This procedure is ideal for those who: * Have a wide nasal bridge * Notice their nose spreads sideways when smiling * Wish to make their nostrils appear smaller
Recommended for people like this
- I'm concerned about the width of my nostrils.
- I want to make my nostrils look smaller.
- I want to reduce the prominence of my nostrils.
- I want to prevent my nose from flaring when I laugh.
Features of Our Nasal Wing Reduction (Alar Reduction)
Nasal alar reduction is a useful procedure for diminishing the prominence of the nostrils, but it is also a procedure that can easily result in an unnatural shape depending on the design and technique used.
Our clinic is committed to designs that emphasize “achieving noticeable change while maintaining a natural finish.”
We place particular emphasis on the following points.
- Leave the groove on the outer side of the nostrils
- Preserve the curve of the nostrils
- Preserve or reconstruct the nasal floor ridge
This achieves a beautiful balance while maintaining the natural shape of the nostrils.

Treatment Process
Design
Based on preoperative simulations and your ideal image, we will propose a nose shape that complements your facial features. We will also ensure ample time for design consultation on the day of surgery.
Anesthesia
For solo procedures, local anesthesia is also possible.
surgery
The surgery takes about one hour. Scars will form inside the nasal cavity and partially on the nasal wings, but these are inconspicuous areas.
